Happy Days of December news

Greetings from Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin,

It's the last month of 2020 and we all could use a little break. I hope your Thanksgiving was as joyful as possible. My album "I'm All Burn" is continuing to get airplay, and reviews. Mostly, I love the fact that so many people genuinely love the album, which is so gratifying.

There is still time to put in an order for a Holiday Gift CD, Digital Download and lyrics book all available by clicking on this link and you can choose your price too.

You might not know, but last year I wrote a Blues score for a documentary film entitled "My First And Last Film," by Tracey Thomas. The exciting news is that on December 15th it will be available on streaming services. I had a blast composing the music, and I am also featured in the movie writing the song Happiness Blues in my studio. The song was inspired by director Tracey Thomas' experience in the film. I produced Happiness Blues for my album "I'm All Burn," and love how it has developed since writing it for the documentary. Here is a recent review about the film's musical score : "Blues music, to me, felt like it belonged with the film and that it made the film better and give it an authentic yet raw feeling to it. The music and the story fit exceptionally well together." Cassandra-Reichelt, mxdwn.com

Last year as the Holidays came into focus, I created a video of a song that I wrote about losing my dear poodle Etta. It's a song of love and loss. I actually feel with so many losing loved ones during the pandemic, that this song resonates. It also is a tribute to 52 lovely animals that have passed that friends sent to me to share in this clip. I hope you can find some comfort in watching. Here is a link to the video, and if you like it, please subscribe to my youtube channel.

A recent review about "I'm All Burn"
CATHY GRIER + the Troublemakers/I'm All Burn: A guitar slinging white girl with the blues that doesn't aspire to be Koko, Janis or Bonnie moved to the Midwest and found her footing reading the liner notes on Delmark releases to know who to hangout with. A real after hours sounding set that never has a watered down moment, at the end of the day this set proves it's all about the chops. Well done.
