Benefit for Tony Menzer at Husby's

I will be co-hosting an open mic and jam with Frank Maloney 9-midnight

My dear friend and my bass player Tony Menzer had a car accident November 10, 2018, post surgery to repair a torn bicep tendon, he is on the mend.

Husby’s has offered to donate 1/2 proceeds from the bar towards Tony’s health expenses and loss of work. Everyone who knows Tony knows how giving he is, always helping friends in need. Here’s our chance to give back.

We know winter has been hitting us hard lately, so why not come out and join in the fun.

There will be a van leaving promptly at 8pm from Cherry Lanes in Sturgeon Bay and returning at 1am, if travel is an issue.

Taking a winter break to write

Since winter in Sturgeon Bay is basically a slow season to perform, I am taking a break to write new material. I do have a few really fun gigs that you can get details about on this page. I am excited that I have been contracted to write a blues score for a documentary film. And will share as more information comes online.

Check back for future dates. If you have any suggestions feel free to send me a note from my contact me page. . My summer gets filled up pretty quickly. Would love any ideas of cool new places and events for me to check out as a solo artist and with my band The Troublemakers.

Happy and Healthy New Year 2019 to you all!

DCA Play It Forward

Thursday Dec 27th is the night of Play it Forward benefit at Door Community Auditorium with musicians from all over Door County including Cathy Grier with Johnny Orlock on Harmonica

check out article in Peninsula Pulse

On Dec. 27, 7 pm, the Door Community Auditorium will present its sixth annual Play It Forward concert, bringing together Door County musicians to benefit a worthy cause. Through these performers’ donated time, as well as donations collected at the concert, Play It Forward celebrates the warmth and light of the holiday season. This year, donations will benefit the GO BO! Foundation, which funds cancer research, assists with cancer-treatment costs and supports the families of Door County children during times of financial need.

This year’s lineup includes the Mighty Mouth Trio, Julian Hagen, Cathy Grier, Dirty Deuce, Mark and Seth Raddatz, Small Forest, Lucy Hagen, Spike and April, Ben Larsen, Terry Murphy, Pete Thelen and Larry “Thor” Thoreson.

The annual performance was inspired by the life and legacy of Bo Johnson, a young Sister Bay resident who died of leukemia in 2012. The GO BO! Foundation was founded to honor Johnson’s legacy.

There is no charge to attend the concert, but freewill donations are encouraged. For more information, call 920.868.2728 or visit dcauditorium.org.
